Pharmacy Error Claims
A pharmacy plays just as important a part in your healthcare than any other healthcare provider. If a Pharmacist makes a mistake then the treatment will make no difference to your condition and may cause further injuries.
A qualified Pharmacist must check all prescriptions against the medication they are dispensing. Sometimes they do make mistakes and a patient is given the incorrect dose or a completely different medication altogether.
Mistakes can be made, after all a Pharmacist is only human. Most mistakes are made during busy periods or because of incorrect packaging.
This can result in serious problems and deaths have occurred. However, more often than not a patient will be back to their normal self within a few days.
In addition to pharmacy errors, it is possible to make a claim against a pharmacy where they have sold defective over the counter medicine. Under consumer protection laws, the pharmacy will be liable for any injury and financial losses arising out of the sale of defective medicines. Different time limits may apply to these types of pharmacy claims and you should therefore discuss them with a Medical Lawyer as soon as possible.
