A recent study has shown that Doctors make better hospital managers.  There is a clear link between the better run and performing hospitals and the people in charge the study says. 

The study, performed in the US, showed that the top performing hospitals, ran by doctors, scored over 25% higher than the non-doctor led rivals.

Whilst this study was carried out in the NHS, it is of course applicable in the UK and lends support to the view held by many that our doctors should be given greater control of hospital management.
